Two Hopewell roads to be closed until December due to water main work
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- Two roads in Hopewell will be closed until December due to planned water main work.
Starting on Monday, May 12, Danville Street and Moultrie Avenue in Hopewell will be under a long-term stationary road closure due to water main work by Virginia American Water.
The closure will reportedly last until December, with work taking place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
According to the release, there will be a short period of time when Danville Street must be closed to all traffic for large road openings, however, the schedule for the complete closure is still being determined.
Below are more details surrounding the closure:
- Danville Street will be closed from Hoke/Sherman Avenue to Stonewall Avenue
- Moultrie Avenue will be closed from Danville Street to the intersection of Lynchburg
- Street
Officials said residential traffic and emergency response vehicles will have access to roads during construction.
