Two in hospital after crash in Henrico intersection

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash in a Henrico County intersection Friday night.

At about 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, officers with the Henrico County Police Division were called to the intersection of Crossridge Glen Way and Staples Mill Road for report of a two-vehicle crash.

Police said it's believed that one of the involved vehicles was going straight and the other was attempting to turn when they collided.

The driver of one of the vehicles was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police could not share the severity of his injuries at this time.

The driver of the other vehicle did not report any injuries. However, a passenger in that vehicle was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

As of the time of reporting, southbound Staples Mill Road is closed while first responders work to clear the scene. Police said the roadway should ideally reopen a little after 9 p.m. on Friday.
