Two men arrested in ‘Operation Crystal Clear’ methamphetamine investigation in Caroline

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two men were arrested in Caroline County in an ongoing narcotics investigation, which officials said targets methamphetamine distribution and has already led to drug seizures and is expected to lead to more arrests.

On Friday, March 27, investigators executed search warrants at the residence and business of 51-year-old Gregory Scott Dadd, of Ruther Glen, according to a March 30 press release from the Caroline County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said investigators seized suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with additional evidence related to the distribution of illegal narcotics, following the investigation.

Dadd was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, distribution of methamphetamine and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. He is currently being held at the Pamunkey Regional Jail without bond.

According to the sheriff's office, 45-year-old David Wayne Curtis Jr., of Woodford, was arrested following a traffic stop conducted by Caroline County Narcotics Investigators on Monday, March 23.

Curtis was charged with distribution of methamphetamine and is also being held at the Pamunkey Regional Jail without bond, officials said.

The sheriff's office said Dadd and Curtis were both arrested as part of "Operation Crystal Clear," an investigation that has been underway for several months. Officials said the goal of the county operation is to identify and dismantle those responsible for illegally distributing methamphetamine in the county.

“These dangerous drugs continue to pose a serious threat to the safety and well-being of our community," said Sheriff C. Scott Moser in a press release. "The individuals who choose to distribute these dangerous substances are putting lives of our citizens at risk, and the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office takes that personally. I am extremely proud of the work being done by our Narcotics Investigators. Their dedication and persistence are making a real impact, and this operation is not over.”
