Two people charged with first-degree murder in Albemarle for 2023 homicide
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Albemarle County Police Department has charged two people with first-degree murder in relation to a homicide investigation that has lasted over a year and a half. According to police, on Monday, Oct. 7, 22-year-old Torius Price and 22-year-old Taquarius Catoe-Anderson were indicted and charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and using a firearm while committing a felony for the murder of 34-year-old Joshua Lamont Jones, of Charlottesville. On Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023 at around 9:45 p.m., officers were called to the 300 block of Timberland Lane, just south of Charlottesville, for the report of a shooting. When they got there, they found Jones shot. PREVIOUS: Police investigating shooting homicide in Albemarle County Jones was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center, where he later died. Police said a third person believed to be involved in Jones' death was murdered in Charlottesville soon after on March 4, 2023.
