Two Pi Day happenings heading to the Richmond area

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Looking to recognize Pi Day with a discounted slice or event? Here's a deal and an event coming to the Richmond area on March 14.

Proper Pie Co.: First 50 in line get free mug with each purchase

Proper Pie, a restaurant located at 2505 East Broad St. in Richmond's Church Hill neighborhood, will offer free mugs with their purchases (one per order) to the first 50 people in line.

Texas Inn: $3.14 slices of pie

Texas Inn, a diner-style restaurant located at 2901 Park Ave. in Richmond's Museum District, will offer $3.14 slices of pie on March 14, with proceeds benefitting local education programs.

Patrons can choose from chocolate, apple, coconut meringue, sweet potato, pecan or lemon icebox pie to celebrate the day.

Belle Isle State Park in Lancaster

From 3:14 to 4 p.m. on March 14, attendees at Belle Isle State Park's visitor center will discuss topics like The Butterfly Effect, Golden Ratio, Fibonacci Sequence and pi, while enjoying some pie.

Registration is not required, according to organizers.
