Two suspects arrested in connection to carjacking, abduction incident in Hanover County
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Deputies with the Hanover County Sheriff's Office have arrested two suspects in connection to a carjacking and abduction case.
On Wednesday, Jan. 29, deputies responded to a reported assault and carjacking in the 16500 block of Mountain Road. According to the Hanover County Sheriff's Office, the victim reported being abducted from Richmond and ended up in Hanover County before they tried to escape.
Deputies identified the two suspects as:
- 29-year-old Bernardo Jones of North Chesterfield
- 30-year-old Tyler Munno of Richmond
The sheriff's office said that the suspects assaulted the victim and took his keys -- fleeing the scene in the victim's 2009 Honda.
On Thursday, Jan. 30, Jones was located in the 2900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue by the Richmond Police Department and taken into custody. Munno was seen at the same location on Friday, Jan. 31.
According to online court records, Jones was charged with auto theft grand larceny, carjacking, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, and assault and battery.
According to online court records, Munno was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and two counts of auto theft grand larceny.
The Hanover County Sheriff's Department thanked the Richmond Police Department for assisting in this case.
