Two-year-old boy dies after being hit by vehicle in Hopewell

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- A two-year-old boy is dead after he was hit by a vehicle in Hopewell Monday evening.

At 5:49 p.m. on Monday, May 19, a report came in for a toddler who had been hit by a vehicle in the 400 block of South 19th Avenue.

When officers with the Hopewell Police Department arrived on the scene, they found a 2-year-old boy with obvious signs of trauma.

The boy was taken by responders to a local hospital where police said he died due to his injuries.
