VCU invites community to annual 2025 Dyslexia Symposium

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is inviting the community to join them for a day of learning and networking at the 2025 Dyslexia Symposium.

This annual event will be hosted by the VCU School of Education, and funded by the Ruth Harris Professorship, in hopes to provide insights, research and resources to support students with dyslexia.

The Founder of the Dyslexia Training Institute, author and advocate Kelli Sandman-Hurley, will be this year's keynote speaker.

The event will include break out sessions, remarks from the keynote speaker, networking opportunities, vendors and free video recordings of select presentations after the event.

The Dyslexia Symposium will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at VCU and is open to students, educators, advocates and the general public.

The event is free for VCU students, however if you are a student attending from another university registration is $20. For community members, parents, teachers or other professionals registration is $40.
