VCU Rams falls to Penn State in close game, a second consecutive loss
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The VCU Rams lost to Penn State at the Henrico Sports & Events Center in Glen Allen on Saturday, marking their second consecutive loss.
The Rams put the first points on the board, taking an early 7-2 lead, but could not hold the lead as Penn State answered.
Penn State effectively converted points from the Rams' turnovers, adding 24 points, though they took advantage of second-chance opportunities, gaining 19 points.
Despite Penn State adding points to the board, VCU was not far behind. They trailed by 4 points late in the third quarter.
Penn State rebounded 46 times and eventually secured a 78-66 victory over the Rams, after losing on Friday night to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Dajah Preston led the team in scoring with 17 points and seven rebounds.
The Rams are set to face the Saint Joseph's Hawks at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
