VCU Real Estate Foundation buys Broad Street Rite Aid

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Real Estate Foundation has bought a Rite Aid on Broad Street near the university's Monroe Park campus.

According to a university spokesperson, the purpose of the Real Estate Foundation is to identify and purchase properties for potential use by the university.

There are reportedly no specific purposes identified by the university for the property, and Rite Aid will continue to lease the space.

The Rite Aid is located across the intersection of Broad Street and Belvidere Street from the Institute of Contemporary art at VCU, and just across Belvidere Street from Broad and Belvidere student housing.
