Troopers noticed structural damage on the Parham Road overpass.

Police said an initial investigation shows that a worker conducting an elevated bridge inspection. The boom hit an I-beam of the overpass, which hit the beam.

According to police, the driver of the 2019 International tractor-trailer was traveling through an active work zone on I-95 South while hauling an excavator with the boom elevated. This created an over-height load.

The boom hit an I-beam of the overpass, ultimately dislodging the beam, per state police.
