Veterans’ plays to be performed at Virginia War Memorial

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Firehouse Theatre and The Virginia War Memorial Foundation is collaborating for four original one-act plays that are written by veterans from Virginia.

The "War In Pieces" performances will be held on Friday, April 4, inside the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) Alumni Hall at the Virginia War Memorial -- located at 621 S. Belvidere Street in Richmond. There will be eight performances that will run through Sunday, April 13.

According to Firehouse Theatre, the "War In Pieces" productions were curated through the Mighty Pen Project, which is a free 12-week long university-level program available for veterans and family members. The classes are taught by New York Times best-selling author David L. Robertson, who will also be directing two of the plays.

Firehouse Theatre said the production was brought to life by a grant from the Carpenter Foundation.

Tickets are $35 for general admission and $15 for veterans and active duty military. Those who are interested can purchase tickets online or the Box Office by calling 804-355-2001.
