Victim of deadly shooting on I-64 identified as Henrico County man

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The 41-year-old victim of a deadly shooting on Interstate 64 in Henrico County has been identified by police.
The man was identified as Demond Winston, of the Sandston area of Henrico County.
At 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, Virginia State Police responded to the eastbound lanes of I-64 near Mechanicsville Turnpike for the report of a crash and a man who had been shot.
When deputies arrived, they found a 2022 Chevy Tahoe off the right side of the road. Police said the driver, Winston, was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
He was then taken to a local hospital where he later died due to his injuries.
