Virginia among top 10 ‘Grinchiest’ states
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia is for lovers -- but not for lovers of Christmas, as it's been ranked in the top 10 in "Grinchiest" states in America.
Innerbody recently took a look at festive search-related data on Google Trends to determine which states have the most holiday spirit -- and which do not.
According to the report, Virginia is the 10th-most "Grinchiest" state, with its most searched holiday term being "Christmas Eve."
The title of most-festive state was given to one of Virginia's neighbors, West Virginia, for the fourth year in a row, followed by Utah and South Dakota. Meanwhile, the least festive states are Washington, D.C., New York and Hawaii.
The most popular Christmas search was "Santa hat" for the second year in a row, followed by "Christmas Eve" and "Christmas songs." The least searched Christmas terms were "mistletoe," "Christmas presents" and "gift exchange."
