Virginia Cannabis Control Authority launches medical cannabis data dashboard
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Virginia Cannabis Control Authority (CCA) has launched a public data dashboard that provides details on Virginia's medical cannabis program.
The CCA announced that it has launched an interactive dashboard that provides timely data on how Virginia's medical cannabis program is operating across the state. The database looks to create new tools to increase transparency for patients, providers and stakeholders.
The dashboard provides up-to-date data from Virginia's seed-to-seed tracking system to create transparency and make it easier for the public and stakeholders to understand the medical cannabis program.
“This dashboard gives Virginians a clear, accessible look at how the medical cannabis program is performing,” said Jamie Patten, the acting head and chief administrative officer of the CCA. “By sharing this data publicly, we are supporting transparency and helping patients, providers and policymakers make informed decisions.”
The dashboard has information on the following metrics:
- Total medical cannabis sales
- The average price per gram of flower
- Number of sales by product type
- The number of plants harvested
The CCA created this dashboard so that all the information can be found in one place to provide a straightforward snapshot of the program's activity and trends over time.
As of Wednesday, Feb. 18, the data from the dashboard has the following information:
- Total Sales Amount for 2026: $15,084,882
- Total Sales Transactions for 2026: 126,706
- Average Flower Price per Gram for 2026: $10.20
- Median Flower Price per Gram of 2026: $10
