Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles to offer free motorcycle safety training
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is offering free Circuit RiderCourse motorcycle safety training sessions throughout Virginia in May in recognition of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.
According to the department, the course is a free, full-day, hands-on training experience led by certified instructors.
Participants ride their own motorcycle through a series of controlled, real-world exercises on a closed circuit, according to the DMV. The course allows riders to assess their skills, receive personal feedback and participate in group discussions reinforcing safe riding habits.
Both new riders and seasoned motorcyclists are encouraged to attend, as the training session will be tailored to their individual needs.
A free one-day course will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 20 and Sept. 21 in Richmond. Additional trainings will be held in Martinsville, Roanoke and Hampton.
Each course is limited to 24 participants and registration is required. To register, click here.
