Virginia Down Syndrome Association to host Dancing with the Local Stars Gala

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Virginia Down Syndrome Association (VDSA) will be hosting the third annual Dancing with the Local Stars Gala in June to help celebrate families and raise awareness about Down syndrome.

The gala will take place at the Altria Theater on Thursday, July 12, from 5:30 to 10 p.m., showcasing teams of local celebrities and dancers with Miracles in Motion -- a non-profit organization that gives people with disabilities specialized dance instruction.

People will have the chance to enjoy several choreographed routines as well as support the Virginia Down Syndrome Association in their goal of raising funds, providing resources and raising awareness for people with Down syndrome and their families.

Additionally, there will be a silent auction and a raffle, offering someone the chance to win half of the collected proceeds, with the other half being given to the VDSA.
