Virginia Has Jobs initiative fuels virtual job fair for Valley and Piedmont

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia Works is hosting a virtual hiring event for the Valley and Piedmont regions.

The virtual job fair will take place on Tuesday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., focused on helping employers in the Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont regions find qualified workers.

According to Virginia Works, this event is part of the "Virginia Has Jobs" initiative and follows three earlier events that drew over 9,000 job seekers and 14,000 applications. Job seekers will be able to visit employer booths, access job search tools, view job descriptions, as well as participate in video interviews.

In addition, special resources will be available for veterans and those that are eligible for training programs.

“Collaborating with our partners at Virginia Career Works, we will make this event another powerful, digitally enabled opportunity to connect businesses in Winchester, Harrisonburg, and Charlottesville and beyond with career transitioners who can help meet their talent needs,” said Nicole Overley, Commissioner of Virginia Works.
