Virginia State Police investigating possible hit-and-run, scooter driver hospitalized

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police are investigating a possible hit-and-run incident that resulted in a scooter driver being hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to police, the incident occurred on Page Street near the York Street intersection at 2:14 p.m. on Aug. 24.

"Preliminary investigations indicate that the 40-year-old male scooter operator was possibly struck by a vehicle that may have left the scene," a release from Virginia State Police reads.

The scooter driver was flown to VCU Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
