Virginia’s seventh fall foliage report of 2025 shows most of state past peak

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia Department of Forestry’s week 7 fall foliage report for this year is here, showing that most of the areas have passed peak, with peak fall foliage in the Coastal Plain.

Released on Thursday, Nov. 6, the department’s fall foliage report for the sixth week shows that most of Central and Western Virginia has now passed its peak. The eastern portions of the state continue to see minimal, patchy or partial colors.

Per the department, water tupelos and bald cypress trees add unique pops of red, yellow and rusty-orange.

However, a few other late species are still adding rosy hues to vistas across Western Virginia.

Ginkgoes wave small fans of purest yellow, so the department encourages Virginians to catch those before they turn again.
