RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- NASA is taking another step toward returning to the moon Wednesday evening -- and you can watch the launch live with 8News.

The evening of Wednesday, April 1, NASA will launch its Artemis II mission from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Its crew consists of Mission Spc. Jeremy Hansen, Mission Spc. Christina Koch, Commander Reid Wiseman and Pilot Victor Glover.

The four astronauts are set to take flight in the Orion capsule at 6:24 p.m. EST. Should the launch be successful, the crew will perform a lunar fly-around.

This highly-anticipated mission was previously delayed due to hydrogen fuel leaks, as well as a clogged helium pressurization line.

If you'd like to watch the launch, you can either tune in to 8News at 6 on ABC or view the livestream here.
