First-ever ‘Sounds at Sunset’ concert series to feature music, games in Hanover

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The first-ever "Sounds at Sunset" concert series is bringing live music, entertainment and more to Hanover starting this weekend.

Hanover officials announced on Wednesday, April 1, that parks across the county will come alive this spring with the inaugural series of events. From April through September, attendees can enjoy food trucks, games and beer gardens at multiple Hanover parks, which will turn into lively outdoor venues.

"Sounds at Sunset is all about bringing our community together," said Parks and Recreation Director Aaron Reidmiller. "Whether you're coming out for the music, the food or just to enjoy a spring or summer evening with family and friends, there's something for everyone to enjoy."

Lineup for the monthly concert series, which will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., is as follows:

  • April 3: En’Novation at Pole Green Park
  • May 1: EXIT 38 at the Hanover County Government Complex
  • June 5: The Mashup at Poor Farm Park
  • July 10: Gone Country at Pole Green Park (Hanover Tomato Festival)
  • Aug. 7: Trademark at the Hanover County Government Complex
  • Sept. 4: Mike Hazelwood and the Fright Train Five at Poor Farm Park

The concerts are free and welcome the public and leashed pets. Attendees can bring their own chairs or blankets. For more information, visit Sounds at Sunset.
