Water main repairs to close Hopewell roadway for over a week

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- A Hopewell roadway will be closed for more than a week to allow for water main repairs.

A portion of Woodlawn Street starting in the 3900 block will be closed from Monday, Sept. 29 until Friday, Oct. 10 to allow crews to make water main repairs, according to a press release from the city.

There will be detours in place. Those in passenger vehicles should take 6th Avenue to Broadway, while those in large trucks should take 6th Avenue to Winston Churchill, per the city. These directions will be listed on electronic message boards along the route.

"We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve the city's infrastructure," officials said in the release.
