Woman charged with having concealed weapon after alleged break-in at Petersburg apartment
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A 31-year-old woman has been charged with having a concealed weapon after police said they received a report of a break-in at an apartment in Petersburg. At 4:37 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police were called to the 2300 block of Navajo Court for the report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they were told that an apartment was being broken into. Officers then reportedly saw a woman leaving an apartment through a window, after which she allegedly ran away from officers. Officers then detained the woman and reportedly found a gun in her waistband. Police identified the woman as 31-year-old Jasmine Jenkins, who has been charged with possession of a concealed weapon.
