Woman dies after being hit by vehicle in Richmond’s Southside
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman is dead after police said she was hit by a vehicle in Richmond's Southside Wednesday morning. At 5:32 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the intersection of Midlothian Turnpike and Old Warwick Road for the report of a crash. When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been hit by a vehicle. Police said she was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, according to police. Officials continue to investigate. All westbound lanes of Midlothian Turnpike were closed for the investigation, but have since reopened, according to police.
