Woman fighting for life, boyfriend charged after stabbing in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman is fighting for her life and her boyfriend has been charged with her attempted murder after she was stabbed in Richmond on Tuesday. Just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 4100 block of North Avenue for report of a stabbing. When they arrived, police found an unidentified woman on the ground with a stab wound. She was taken to a local hospital with injuries considered life-threatening. Investigators determined that this incident was domestic in nature. According to police, officers with the Henrico County Police Division took the victim's boyfriend, 48-year-old Calvin Harris of Richmond, into custody "shortly after the assault" and turned him over to the Richmond Police Department. Harris has been charged with attempted murder. No additional information is available as of the time of reporting.
