Woman fighting for life, boyfriend charged after stabbing in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman is fighting for her life and her boyfriend has been charged with her attempted murder after she was stabbed in Richmond on Tuesday. Just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 4100 block of North Avenue for report of a stabbing. When they arrived, police found an unidentified woman on the ground with a stab wound. She was taken to a local hospital with injuries considered life-threatening. Investigators determined that this incident was domestic in nature. According to police, officers with the Henrico County Police Division took the victim's boyfriend, 48-year-old Calvin Harris of Richmond, into custody "shortly after the assault" and turned him over to the Richmond Police Department.
