Woman hospitalized after water rescue at Pony Pasture Rapids Park
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- On Saturday Aug. 9 Richmond Fire was called to 7200 Riverside Drive for a water rescue.
Fire officials were dispatched to 7200 Riverside drive also known as Pony Pasture Rapids Park for reports of a woman who struck her head against a rock.
According to Richmond Fire, once crews arrived on the scene, they found a woman in the river. Crews then worked to get the individual to the shoreline awaiting an ambulance.
The woman was conscious and alert with family waiting for her rescue, officials said. She was then taken to the hospital, however her current is still unknown.
