Two people hurt after crash on Route 288 in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two people are in the hospital after a four-vehicle crash closed all lanes of southbound Route 288 in Chesterfield Friday evening.

According to Virginia State Police, troopers were dispatched to southbound Route 288 near Route 1 at 4:43 p.m. on Friday, April 10 for report of a four-vehicle crash.

Officials said two people were hurt in the crash. One of them has critical injuries, while the other has non-life-threatening injuries. Both were taken to a local hospital.

The crash closed all lanes along Route 288 south near Route 1 as of 5:33 p.m., per the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

Motorists were urged to use the Route 1 exit to avoid delays.
