Woman shot multiple times, killed in Richmond just before her 34th birthday

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman is dead after she was found shot multiple times inside a Richmond home on Sunday.
Just after 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 24, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to a residence in the 500 block of Hunt Avenue for a report of a person shot.
When they arrived, officers found 33-year-old Johnnita Russell of Richmond, who had been shot multiple times. She died at the scene.
According to police, Russell was killed less than a day before her 34th birthday.
No further details are available as of the time of reporting. The investigation into this shooting continues.
