1 dead after shooting, single-vehicle crash in Hopewell

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — One person is dead after a shooting and a single-vehicle crash in Hopewell early Monday morning.
At around 1:25 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, officers with the Hopewell Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Haskell Street for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located a single-vehicle crash and a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police identified the victim as 38-year-old Jesse James Rhodes of Hopewell.
The Hopewell Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
