10 displaced after Chesterfield apartment fire

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Ten people were displaced after a fire broke out in an apartment in Chesterfield County on Tuesday morning.

Just after 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, Chesterfield Fire and EMS crews responded to a report of an apartment fire in the 5400 block of Grist Mill Drive.

When the first firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from a second floor apartment and fire in a bedroom.

Firefighters were able to mark the fire under control within 20 minutes, according to officials.

While fire officials reported no injuries, a total of 10 people were displaced.

Chesterfield Fire officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire as of the time of reporting.
