11-story hotel to replace former Hardee’s in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A former Hardee's restaurant in Richmond is being torn down to make room for an 11-story hotel with a parking garage.

The old Hardee's building, located in Scott's Addition at 921 Myers St., will be torn down to make way for a new 11-story hotel that will feature a parking garage, according to the city of Richmond.

The Shamin Hotels management group will oversee construction of a 133-room dual-brand AC by Marriott lifestyle hotel and a 120-suite Residence Inn by Marriott, which will be located near Arthur Ashe Boulevard and Broad Street, per a drafted version for discussion purposes.

The project will also include a 10,000-square-foot ballroom, meeting and conference rooms and a rooftop restaurant with an indoor and outdoor lounge.

Additionally, the hotel will work with the Diamond District development by including a pocket park along Arthur Ashe Boulevard and a pedestrian crosswalk between Broad Street.

During the construction of this project, power lines along Myers Street will be relocated, the public alley will be renovated and the area where an off-site spill occurred will be cleaned.

This hotel serves to connect Scott's Addition with the surrounding neighborhoods, according to the draft.
