15-year-old boy dies after shooting on Decatur Street in Richmond’s Southside

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 15-year-old boy has died due to his injuries after police said he was shot on Decatur Street in Richmond's Southside Sunday evening.

At 6:08 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the intersection of East 11th and Hull streets for the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 15-year-old boy lying down and unresponsive in the intersection. Police said he had apparent gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital where he died due to his injuries later on Sunday.

Detectives began investigating and determined the shooting occurred in the 1000 block of Decatur Street.
