19-year-old man arrested after two people shot in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with a Monday night double shooting in Petersburg.
The shooting took place just after 8 p.m. on Monday, June 30, near the 400 block of Ridgeview Lane, according to the Petersburg Bureau of Police.
Two people were shot. They were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, which were not considered life-threatening.
On Wednesday, July 2, 19-year-old Kemon Brooks was charged with reckless handling of a firearm in connection with this incident.

Brooks was given a secure bond. His court appearance is pending.
