2 arrested after shots fired at Chesterfield home, 15 pounds of marijuana seized

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two men are facing charges after shots were fired at a Chesterfield County home, with officers finding 15 pounds of marijuana and over $100,000 in cash.

At 2:22 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department were called to the 18400 block of Palisades Court regarding multiple reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, officers found a residence and a vehicle that "appeared to be the target of the shooting."

"A resident of the targeted home was detained by police at the scene as he was reluctant to cooperate and acknowledge discharging his firearm," police said.

That resident, a 20-year-old man, was ultimately arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, as well as possession of a firearm while also possessing certain substances.

Days later, on Tuesday, March 31, a second suspect -- a 22-year-old Chesterfield man -- was arrested in connection with this incident. He was hit with eight charges, including:

  • One count of attempted malicious wounding
  • One count of breaking and entering at night
  • One count of attempted robbery
  • One count of shooting into an occupied dwelling
  • One count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • One count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony

Officers executed multiple search warrants related to this case and recovered 15 pounds of marijuana, multiple firearms and about $145,000 in U.S. currency.
