$20,000 reward for information on Florida woman found dead in Emporia

EMPORIA, Va. (WRIC) -- Months after a 23-year-old Florida woman was found dead in Emporia, FBI Richmond is offering a $20,000 reward for any information that leads to the truth.

On Saturday, June 7, the remains of 23-year-old Meredith Rose Walker of Naples, Florida were found near the intersection of Market Drive and Commonwealth Boulevard in Emporia, according to the Emporia Police Department.

Months later, on Tuesday, Nov. 25, FBI Richmond announced that it is offering $20,000 to anyone who has information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for Walker's death.

Billboards with Walker's photo will be displayed along Interstate 95 from Richmond to Orlando during the busy Thanksgiving travel week in an effort to spread awareness about this case.

What do we know about Walker's death?

Walker, pictured above, was last seen alive on May 30 in Orlando, Florida. At the time, she was wearing a red jacket and blue jean pants, as shown in the middle photograph.

According to FBI Richmond, it's believed that Walker may have been hitchhiking along I-95. Unfortunately, no other details are available as to where she went or what she may have been doing between May 30 and when her body was found on June 7.
