23-year-old man arrested in connection to Petersburg burglary

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A 23-year-old man has been charged following an alleged burglary that occurred in Petersburg on Tuesday. On Tuesday, Jan. 21, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police responded to the 200 block of South Sycamore Street for the report of someone inside of a building on the property. When officers arrived, they found 23-year-old Wesley Pitman inside. Pittman was taken into custody and has been charged with breaking and entering and destruction of property. Police said he is being held at Riverside Regional Jail pending his appearance in court.
