According to the Henrico County Police Division, officers responded to the intersection of Westhampton Glen Drive and Patterson Avenue for a crash at 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

The man avoided being hit, but Current was hit by the vehicle. Police said the driver of the Altima remained on the scene.
While neither speed nor alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Dark clothing, low lighting and not crossing at a crosswalk or intersection are believed to have contributed, officials said.
