26-year-old identified in deadly single-vehicle crash on Kain Road in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 26-year-old woman has been identified as the driver who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Kain Road in Henrico County on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Sept. 17, Henrico County Police Division identified the driver in Tuesday's deadly crash as 26-year-old Jasmine Senae Woody of Henrico.

At 1:04 pm. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, authorities announced on social media that officers were responding to the scene of a deadly single-vehicle crash on Kain Road near Willane Road in Henrico.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a vehicle that crashed in a ditch in Kain Road near Willane Road at around 11:55 a.m. on Tuesday.

When they arrived, officers and crews with the Henrico County Division of Fire located a Hyundai Elantra in a creek bed near a small bridge.

Woody -- the driver and only person in the vehicle -- was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation by the Crash Team revealed that Woody was traveling on Kaine Road West when the vehicle ran off the road, hit a tree and the concrete pillar of a bridge before landing in the creek bed.

Authorities believe speed was a factor and are continuing to investigate what caused the crash.
