PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A 26-year-old man is facing several charges after two people were shot in Petersburg late Saturday night. Just before 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police were at the scene of a double shooting in the 500 of South Dunlop Street. The two unidentified victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. On Tuesday, Dec. 10, 26-year-old James Bell was taken into custody with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. According to police, in connection to the South Dunlop Street shooting, Bell was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of possessing a firearm as a felon and one count of using a firearm to commit a felony.
