27-year-old arrested after hitting person in the head with weapon
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A 27-year-old woman has been arrested for malicious wounding in Petersburg after officials found a person with a laceration to the head.
Just before 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police were called to the 700 block of Independence Avenue for a report of fight.
When officers arrived, they found a person with a laceration to the head after being hit with a weapon.
The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Janee James, was taken into custody and charged with malicious wounding, according to police.
James is being held at Riverside Regional Jail on a secure bond.
