28-year-old suspect sought in VCU apartment burglary

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) police are asking for the public's help to find the 28-year-old man they believe is involved in an apartment complex burglary.

At about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, officers with VCU Police were called to an apartment at 1200 W. Marshall Street — located just across the street from VCU’s Siegel Center, among other university buildings — for a report of a burglary.

The victim reported that a suspect entered their apartment without permission and took personal items and money, according to police. The victim and the suspect reportedly did not know each other.

Campus police said that they identified the suspect as 28-year-old Jeremiah Harris of Richmond after reviewing campus footage from the scene.

The police have warrants out for the following charges:

  • Felony breaking and entering
  • Misdemeanor larceny
