33 dogs rescued from alleged hoarding case in southwestern Virginia
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Thirty-three dogs were rescued by Old Dominion Humane Society volunteers from an alleged hoarding situation in southwestern Virginia on Sunday. Eleven dogs remain, and they'll reportedly be rescued by the county's animal control. A spokesperson for the humane society said that due to there being a pending court case, the county in which the alleged hoarding situation took place would not be released. After volunteers returned to the humane society's facility in Spotsylvania County, they provided intake to the dogs, which included vaccinations, microchipping and examinations. The humane society said dogs were fed and given warm blankets, and they will be taken to foster homes where they will be cared for until they are be adopted.
