35-year-old woman dies one day after severe crash in Chesterfield, 2 others injured

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman has died one day after she was injured in a severe crash on Hull Street Road that also injured two others.

According to Chesterfield Police, they are continuing to investigate a crash that happened in the 20700 block of Hull Street Road at 6:38 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, which eventually resulted in the death of 35-year-old Niurka Y. Pena.

Police said that Pena was making a left turn onto Hull Street Road west from Skinquarter Landfill in a Hyundai SUV, when a Ford F-150 traveling in the left lane of Hull Street Road hit her vehicle.

Three people were injured in the crash, according to police -- Pena, her passenger and the driver of the Ford F-150. They were all taken to local hospitals, where Pena later died due to her injuries.

As of the time of reporting, the current condition of the other two victims is unknown, although a previous press release stated that they were seriously injured. 8News has reached out to Chesterfield Police for an update.
