38-year-old killed in Henrico shooting, found lying in road

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 38-year-old has been identified as the man who was shot and killed in Henrico on Thursday morning.

At about 4:50 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, officers with the Henrico County Police Division responded to the report of a "suspicious situation" in the 1400 block of Oakland Road.

When officers arrived they found a man, now identified as 38-year-old Darryl Timothy Hines, of Richmond, lying on the road with apparent gunshot wounds.

Hines was then taken to a local hospital, and later died due to his injuries.

While Henrico Police is continuing to follow up on leads regarding the case, as of the time of reporting authorities believe it was an isolated incident.
