39-year-old sought after missing trial for 8 felony charges

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office is looking for a 39-year-old man who is out on bond and missed his jury trial for eight felony charges related to the distribution and possession of substances.

According to authorities, a capias -- also known as a "bench warrant" -- was issued for 39-year-old Richard Maurice Jasper from the Chesterfield County Circuit Court after he missed his jury trial set for Thursday, Oct. 2.

The incident occurred while Jasper was out on bond for five felony distribution charges as well as three felony possession by a felon of schedule I or II charges, officials said.

Jasper, pictured above, has been described by the sheriff's office as around 5-foot-8 tall with brown eyes and black hair. Residences known to Jasper include the 1600 block of Stansbury Avenue and addresses along Terminal Avenue and Mandalay Drive.
