4-year-old injured in Henrico hit-and-run, 18-year-old suspect arrested
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Police Division has arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run in which a 4-year-old boy was injured while riding a bicycle.
At 4:35 p.m. on Friday, March 6, officers responded to the 700 block of N. Laburnum Avenue for a reported hit-and-run involving a bicyclist.
Upon their arrival, the officers found a 4-year-old boy with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The suspect -- identified by police as 18-year-old Darlison D. Valero Contreras of Henrico -- was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run.
Valero Contreras is scheduled for an adjudicatory hearing in May.
