47-year-old identified as man hit, killed by train in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 47-year-old has been identified as the man who was hit and killed by a train in Chesterfield earlier this month.

According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, the deadly crash took place on Aug. 10 at 4:16 p.m. near the 2900 block of Walmsley Boulevard.

Authorities said a train was traveling south on the tracks between Walmsley Boulevard and Castlewood Road when it hit a pedestrian. The pedestrian was later identified as 47-year-old Anthony M. Robinson Jr., who officials said was experiencing homelessness at the time.

Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.
