58-year-old found dead after Hopewell shooting, police investigating

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- A 58-year-old was found dead after a shooting took place in Hopewell on Thursday morning.
According to the Hopewell Police Department, they received a report of a man shot in the 800 block of Chesnut Street at 5:56 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21.
When officers arrived, they found 58-year-old Derrick Lamont Corner with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
