59-year-old driver killed in single-vehicle crash in Buckingham

BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 59-year-old driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Buckingham County on Wednesday evening.
Virginia State Police troopers said the crash took place at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, on Rock Mill Road in Buckingham County.
According to state police, a 2003 Ford Explorer was heading southbound on Rock Mill Road near the intersection of Arcanum Road when it went off the right side of the road.
The Explorer reportedly hit a culvert and a tree stump.
The driver, identified as 59-year-old John J. Jamerson, Jr. of Dillwyn, died at the scene.
"Jamerson was not wearing a seatbelt," a state police spokesperson said in a release on Thursday.
The crash remains under investigation.
